James Church is an Australian dobro player, session musician and songwriter. He is most often noted for his tone and sensitive feel for the instrument. This has lead to him becoming increasingly in demand for live performance and studio recording projects for a number of artists. You can hear his dobro playing on albums by Allan Caswell, The Bushwackers, Fanny Lumsden, Brad Butcher, Mike McClellan and Cielle Montgomery among others. He currently tours in the duo “Montgomery Church”, as well as progressive acoustic trio “String Theories”. If he isn’t on the road he teaches guitar, dobro and mandolin where he currently lives in Cooma, NSW.
James is available for session recording. Examples of his playing can be found on the Media page. You can contact him here.
